About

Ziyun Chen was born and raised in Shanghai, China. He received a BA in Film from Communication University of China and an MFA in Film Editing from American Film Institute Conservatory.

Ziyun started his career at China Central Television, the national TV network, as a sizzle reel editor on NBA programs for two years. He then edited trailers, commercials and his feature documentary August on Air before he attended AFI.

Following AFI, Ziyun edited Ayush Banker's and Justin LaReau's horror feature A Demon Within and worked with Elias Matar on his thriller feature Ribbons. He then shared editing credits with Dan Holland on John Swetnam's dance drama Making Moves, a Fullscreen original series.

While his focus is narrative editing, Ziyun has also edited documentaries, including his recent collaborations with Elias Matar on Flight of the Refugees and Exodus.
